Celebrating Connections at the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station

Next stop: Little Tokyo/Arts District Station community celebration!

Metro Art invites you to explore these downtown Los Angeles communities that are now easily accessible via rail. This free event, Celebrating Connections, includes food, interactive workshops, tours highlighting neighborhood cultural organizations and businesses and a Metro Art Presents music festival on Saturday, September 9, 2023 between 12:30-4:30pm.

Go Metro and take the A or E Line to Little Tokyo/Arts District Station.

Metro Art x Silkroad Present: Railroad Roots

Metro Art x Silkroad are pleased to present a free event at Los Angeles Union Station on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 6-7:30pm. The evening includes musical performances by Silkroad Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens, Silkroad artists Wu Man and Haruka Fujii, and guest artist Pura Fé, as well as a discussion about the railroad, the communities who built it, and the people who were displaced and most affected by it.

Metro Art Presents x dublab: Deep Routes

Exploring the overlapping and intersecting musical histories embedded in the Los Angeles landscape and its transit topographies. This free live event at Union Station on SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2022 from 4-8 PM is all about the Deep Routes radio series. Featuring Jimetta Rose and The Voices of Creation, Spiñorita, traditional Tongva songs shared by Jessa and Tina Calderon, Atomic Nancy’s Jukebox and more sounds that span Los Angeles County.

Metro Art Presents Play On!

To celebrate the summer reopening of the much-loved (and always played) public piano at Union Station in Summer 2021, Metro Art Presents premiered a back-to-back week of pop-up piano performances from JULY 19-23, 2021 highlighting Los Angeles-based musicians Brandon Coleman, Jamael Dean, Inna Faliks, Donia Jarrar, and Jonathan Montes. Hands on Mosaic Workshop with Piece by Piece at the VA in October 2021

Veterans Legacy Art Project

Through a series of empowering and expressive hands-on mosaic workshops, Los Angeles-based arts organization Piece by Piece is engaging the Veteran community in the design of the Veterans Legacy Art Project, a mosaic artwork for a freestanding wall adjacent to the site of the future Westwood/VA Station.

LAX/Metro Transit Center Station

Metro’s LAX/Metro Transit Center Station is a major new multimodal transit hub that will provide a gateway connection between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Metro’s regional transit system. LAX/MTC is part of the K Line, near Aviation Blvd/96th Street, and is designed in sync with an Automated People Mover (APM) being built and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).
