Please join Metro Art at Union Station on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 5:30PM to 7PM for a celebration of the exhibition, “Where You Stand: Chinatown 1880 to 1939.”
We’re kicking things off with a traditional lion dance by local students of the East Wind Foundation. The dance procession will begin in front of Union Station’s historic ticketing hall by the Info Kiosk, proceed into the Waiting Room and conclude next to the exhibition in the Waiting Room Gallery.
After the dance procession, the event continues with a walk-through of the exhibition led by Metro Art and exhibition partners — Huntington-USC Institute of California and the West, the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California and family descendants who will share personal stories and insights about Chinatown.
The event is free and everyone’s welcome!
RSVP on Eventbrite. RSVPs are not required but requested. This is not a seated event as the procession and walk-through will move through the station. However, the event is wheelchair accessible and some seating is available for those who request mobility support upon arrival at the Metro Art table in the Waiting Room.
