RIO KOSTA‘s hypnotic grooves, sleek vocal harmonies, and bass that hits you in the heart. Formed by multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Mike Del Rio and Kosta Galanopoulos, the LA-based duo embraces a creative process that lets songs evolve naturally, resulting in a sun-kissed sound shaped by their Greek, Spanish, Italian, Puerto Rican, New York, and Bahamian influences. As exhilarating live as they are in studio, RIO KOSTA’s genre-defying performances evoke the spirit of both modern festivals and classic psychedelic gatherings. Following the release of their debut album, Unicorn, the duo continues to build momentum with a packed festival season and tours across the US, UK, and Europe, bringing their global energy to audiences around the world.

DJ LUXXURY‘s weekly show on KCRW is a genre-blurring deep dive mixing post-punk and proto-punk, from disco to dub, new wave to darkwave, and from stoner rock to rocksteady. Each episode, producer/songwriter Blake Robin (aka LUXXURY) erases the lines between rock and dance grooves of the past and present, playing genre classics alongside dubbed-out edits, vintage synthpop gems, and post-punk bangers all expertly reimagined with a modern twist. Blending seamless DJ sets with a crate-digger’s ear and a remixer’s touch LUXXURY delivers an immersive soundscape where hidden classics meet fresh remixes and musical history gets reassembled in real time.

One of the original turntablists, J. Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-’80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows since the early 2000’s, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group’s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla. J Rocc’s first album of his own original production, Some Cold Rock Stuf, was released in 2011. Since then, he’s released solo albums A Wonderful Letter (2022) and Beatitudes (2023).
