Metro Art and KJazz 88.1 FM are once again teaming up for KJazz Tracks at Union Station to kick off Jazz Appreciation Month on Saturday, April 5 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. KJazz DJs Rhonda Hamilton and José Rizo will host live performances in the station’s historic Ticket Concourse featuring three distinctly talented artists: Kiefer Trio with supporting acts Salami Rose Joe Louis and David Binney Action Trio.
This event is free for all ages and open to the public. RSVP to learn more. Tickets are not required and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 40 visitors to present their TAP cards to the Metro Art info table will receive a free Metro Art publication and a Union Station swag bag!

About the Artists
Kiefer Trio
Kieferis a Grammy-winning jazz pianist, producer, and beat-maker celebrated for his seamless blend of virtuosic musicianship and modern production. Known for his collaborations with Anderson .Paak, SiR and Nate Smith, Kiefer has built a reputation for his innovative approach to jazz, as showcased in his newly released live trio album Something For Real on Stones Throw Records. Recorded during an electrifying Los Angeles performance in April 2023, the album features reimagined favorites from his catalog, a new original track, and a stirring rendition of Bobby Hutcherson’s “Montara.” Kiefer’s organic and exploratory style shines alongside his trio—Luke Titus (drums) and Pera Krstajic (bass)—capturing the spontaneity of live performance. His recent NPR Tiny Desk concert further highlights his artistry, featuring standout tracks like “Why Not?” and “Cute.” With sold-out shows at the Blue Note NYC, and sell outs all over Europe, Kiefer continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Salami Rose Joe Louis
Salami Rose Joe Louis is a fearless sonic explorer who weaves together intricate jazz harmonies, dreamlike beats, and science-fiction-inspired storytelling. Her critically acclaimed debut, Zdenka 2080, was nominated for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards Best Album of 2020. She has toured with Flying Lotus, Toro y Moi, Clairo, and MNDSGN, with recent projects including the 2024 collaborative album Sarah with Flanafi and a dynamic live EP showcasing her quartet’s improvisational energy.
David Binney Action Trio
David Binney, hailed as a visionary jazz composer and saxophonist, has worked with jazz icons like Gil Evans, Maria Schneider, Jim Hall, and Medeski Martin & Wood. With his Action Trio, featuring drummer Louis Cole and bassist Pera Krstajic, Binney continues to push jazz into new territories. A prolific artist with 22 albums as a leader, he has also produced for Donny McCaslin and Lost Tribe and contributed to David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar.
