Wilson

Artist(s):

Project Description

Wilson portrays the vibrancy of human interactions during a moment of pause on a Sunday afternoon. The artist met Wilson while he was on his way to the African Marketplace, where he was going to meet old friends who run a stand at the market every weekend. The painting illustrates the depth, emotion and character of the subject, as remembered by the artist after their illuminating conversation

About the Artist

BRIAN ALLEN (b. 1991, Los Angeles, CA) works primarily in oils and spray paint, creating a contrasting balance between vibrant and colder, dull colors. His work combines elements of fine art with the rawness of street art, creating both commotion and stillness. Infatuated with abstraction, he uses it to set the mood and build worlds for his paintings. His artworks come from a vulnerable place, serving as a testimony to life experiences, growth, and self-expression.
