Sanctuary is a tender portrait of a mother and child, Pia and Paolo, shielded among hydrangeas, monarch butterflies and bees. This reminder of a secure, loving embrace provides a visual haven for weary travelers in need of solace.
About the Artist
SIMONETTE DAVID JACKSON’s pen-and-ink drawings and paper assemblages of people and nature have been exhibited in local art fairs and galleries. The San Fernando Valley–based artist has also been commissioned for public art campaigns raising awareness of hate crimes and mental health, as well as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
