Crenshaw/LAX High School Neighborhood Art Contest

Seeking artistic and creative high school students grades 9-12 with roots in the Crenshaw District, Inglewood, Westchester, the LAX Community and vicinity in South LA. Create an artwork that celebrates your community along the route of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project—and have the opportunity to receive $500 if your artwork is selected!
Artworks by students in grades 9-12 will be selected as inspiration for eight commemorative pins that Metro will distribute in celebration of the opening of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project—one pin for each of the eight new station. Eight student artists who submit artwork to the contest will be selected by a committee of local community leaders and cultural figures.
The pins will be distributed free of charge to the public during the opening of the new rail stations: Expo/Crenshaw, Martin Luther King Jr., Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Fairview Heights, Downtown Inglewood, Westchester/Veterans and Aviation/Century.
This contest is open to high school students only, grades 9-12. One entry per student will be reviewed.
All entries must be received by the deadline of Friday, April 8, 2022. Online entries must be submitted by 5pm (PDT). In-person entries must be submitted by 3pm (PDT) to the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project Office, located at 3699 Crenshaw Bl, Los Angeles, CA 90016.
