The Arts & Cultural Organization Pool builds on Metro Art’s long history of collaborating with community-based organizations in support of innovative, community-responsive, arts and cultural programs for transit. Join Metro-commissioned artist and urban sketcher Sandow Birk for a three-hour sketching workshop on the streets of Westwood. Birk will draw and discuss sketching in the urban environment and how this process informs the design of his artwork for the future Westwood/VA Hospital Metro Station. See some of the local sights and landmarks Sandow is including in this site-specific artwork. Materials will be provided. This class is outdoors, requires walking throughout the neighborhood, and is subject to weather.
