It All Starts With Water: Plein Air Art Making Workshop  with Metro Art commissioned artist Rigo 23

Kuruvungna Village Springs 1439 S Barrington Ave , Los Angeles

Join Metro Art commissioned artist Rigo 23 at the Kuruvungna Village Springs  to learn about his artwork design for the future D Line Wilshire/Rodeo Station. The artwork is inspired by Tongva people and culture, past and present. Learn more about his artwork “Gathering of the Waters.”

The artist will be joined by Bob Ramirez, President of the Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation, who will lead a walking tour of the Kuruvungna Village Springs.

Learn about Simeti’s artwork in-progress and create sketches and collages inspired by the garden. On the Street: Urban Sketching with Sandow Birk (In-Person)

Westwood Village Westwood Village, Los Angeles

Join Metro-commissioned artist and urban sketcher Sandow Birk for a three-hour sketching workshop on the streets of Westwood. Birk will draw and discuss sketching in the urban environment and how this process informs the design of his artwork for the future Westwood/VA Hospital Metro Station. See some of the local sights and landmarks Sandow is including in this site-specific artwork. Materials will be provided. This class is outdoors, requires walking throughout the neighborhood, and is subject to weather.
