  • Metro Art x Silkroad Present: Railroad Roots

    The forthcoming American Railroad tour—just one component of the multi-year American Railroad initiative, Silkroad’s most ambitious project to date—comprises stops in locations with significant connections to the U.S. Transcontinental Railroad. In addition to previously announced tour dates, Metro Art x Silkroad are pleased to present a free event on November 13 at Los Angeles Union Station from 6-7:30pm. The evening includes musical performances by Silkroad Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens, Silkroad artists Wu Man and Haruka Fujii, and guest artist Pura Fé, as well as a discussion about the railroad, the communities who built it, and the people who were displaced and most affected by it.

    The event is presented in partnership with Pacific Council on International Policy, The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts, and For Freedoms.

  • Celebrating In Our Ancestors’ Footsteps

    Join Metro Art on February 15, 2024 from 5PM to 7:30PM in the Union Station Waiting Room for a celebration of the exhibition, Where You Stand: Chinatown 1880 to 1939. Kicking off with a dynamic performance of a traditional lion dance by local students of the East Wind Foundation, the event continues with an exhibition walk-through led by Metro Art.

  • Geoff McFetridge: Drawing a Life

    On February 23, Metro Art Presents will host a free screening of Geoff McFetridge: Drawing a Life. in Union Station’s historic ticketing hall. The film is a poetic and intimate look into the life and work of one of the most visionary artists of his time, while also exploring the universal questions of what makes a fulfilling life.

    RSVP on Eventbrite recommended, but not required. Limited seating available. Preferential seating for first 20 people who show their TAP cards at Metro Art table.

  • Metro Art Presents: KJazz Tracks at Union Station

    Grammy-nominated musician, emcee, singer, producer and drummer Kassa Overall will headline, with opening performances by multi-instrumentalist, composer and educator Isaiah Collier, and vocalist and performer Darynn Dean. KJazz DJ Rhonda Hamilton will host and serve as emcee.
