    Nos Vemos / We See Us Application Workshop: Call to Artists / Taller de Solicitud: Convocatoria para Artistas Call to Artists - Nos Vemos/We See Us Metro Art invites artists to submit qualifications for consideration to engage Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) communities in cultural asset mapping and artwork creation. Join staff in a Virtual Application Workshop that will provide: 1) An overview of the project and application process 2) Tips on preparing application materials and submission 3) Question and Answer discussion 4) An opportunity to connect with fellow artists and Metro Arts & Design staff!   • Crenshaw/LAX High School Neighborhood Art Contest

    Calling artistic and creative in South LA high school students grades 9-12 with roots in the Crenshaw District, Inglewood, Westchester, the LAX Community and vicinity.  LA Metro is seeking eight students to create eight artworks that celebrates the communities along the route of Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project. Selected artists will receive $500 and their artwork will be transformed into a commemorative pin distributed free of charge to the public at the opening of each new Crenshaw/LAX Transit Line station.

    Metro Art invites visual artists and artist teams to submit their qualifications for an opportunity to design four (4) original, site-responsive artworks for large-scale temporary banners to be affixed to sound barrier walls surrounding the Westwood/VA Hospital Station construction site, as part of a visual mitigation measure for the Purple (D Line) Extension Project.

Learn about Simeti’s artwork in-progress and create sketches and collages inspired by the garden.
