Artist Emily Kiwa Tanaka will debut her new tribute to Harbor Gateway created for Metro Art’s Through the Eyes of Artists poster series at a meet-the-artist event and signing taking place at the Harbor City – Harbor Gateway Branch Library.

The artist will be signing posters, and Metro Art staff will also be available with information on Metro Art programs.

Tanaka’s poster celebrates the home gardens and local icons of Harbor Gateway in a bright and colorful tribute that also incorporates her background in community building and urban planning.

Happening at the same time, the Harbor City – Harbor Gateway Branch Library will also be hosting the 150th Anniversary Scavenger Hunt and Design the Library of the Future, encouraging visitors to use their creativity to imagine what they think the library may look like in another 150 years.

The Through the Eyes of Artists Harbor Gateway poster will be featured on the Metro fleet through April 30, 2023.
