Project Description
Rodríguez illustrates how East Los Angeles cemeteries honor their diverse histories and reflect the community’s sense of family and soul.
Artist Statement
“There are at least 6 cemeteries in East LA…I think of a cemetery as a museum, a park and a garden. There you will find beautiful art pieces in the open air, palms and flowers.”

About Through the Eyes of Artists
In the tradition of celebrating transportation through colorful travel destination posters, Metro Art commissions a diverse range of Los Angeles artists to create original artworks for the Through the Eyes of Artists poster series. Established in 2003, the posters are displayed onboard Metro trains and buses.
