The K Line will connect to the Metro E Line (Expo)\, which travels between downtown LA and Santa Monica. By 2024\, the K Line will also connect to the new LAX/Metro Transit Center Station\, the new Aviation/Century Station and the Metro C Line (Green).\n\nAbout Metro K Line Artworks\n  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe K Line features 14 artworks by 14 artists integrated at the plaza\, concourse and platform levels commissioned by Metro Art. SUMMARY:Crenshaw/LAX High School Neighborhood Art Contest
DESCRIPTION:Deadline Extended! All entries due by Friday\, April 8\, 2022\n\n\nSeeking artistic and creative high school students grades 9-12 with roots in the Crenshaw District\, Inglewood\, Westchester\, the LAX Community and vicinity in South LA.  Create an artwork that celebrates your community along the route of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project—and have the opportunity to receive $500 if your artwork is selected!  \nArtworks by students in grades 9-12 will be selected as inspiration for eight commemorative pins that Metro will distribute in celebration of the opening of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project—one pin for each of the eight new station. Eight student artists who submit artwork to the contest will be selected by a committee of local community leaders and cultural figures.  \n\n\nThe pins will be distributed free of charge to the public during the opening of the new rail stations: Expo/Crenshaw\, Martin Luther King Jr.\, Leimert Park\, Hyde Park\, Fairview Heights\, Downtown Inglewood\, Westchester/Veterans and Aviation/Century. \nThis contest is open to high school students only\, grades 9-12. One entry per student will be reviewed. \n\n\nAll entries must be received by the deadline of Friday\, April 8\, 2022.  Online entries must be submitted by 5pm (PDT).
