All tours are led by trained Metro Art Docent Council volunteers and provide insights into the artworks\, artists and art-making processes. In addition to his wide ranging solo work and style experimentation since the 1960s\, Bradford is noted for his work with John Carter and Ornette Coleman. In the 1970s\, he founded and ran The Little Big Horn in Pasadena legendary for Sunday evening jazz jam sessions. In October 2009\, Bradford became the second recipient of the Festival of New Trumpet Music’s Award of Recognition. Bradford was a revered jazz history and ensemble professor who taught at Pasadena City College as well as Pomona College for over 44 years until he retired last year\, influencing and inspiring generations of LA musicians who passed through. Bradford will be performing as bandleader for Stealin’ Home – A Jackie Robinson Suite\, which was originally commissioned by the Baseball Reliquary in 2018. Dickerson has been carrying the torch since he was 13\, playing in his first rockabilly band in his hometown of Columbia\, Missouri. He moved to Los Angeles at the age of 22 and proceeded to found his primary band\, Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics\, his newest group\, Deke Dickerson and the Whippersnappers\, as well as several side projects. In late 2012\, however\, Adolfo and Cat saw couples dancing Swing and Lindy Hop at Disneyland and immediately exclaimed they wanted to learn “how they did that!” (their actual words) They have been trained in various dances\, such as Latin and Ballroom\, too. The exhibition incorporates four original primary source newspaper headlines.
