DESCRIPTION:Deadline Extended! All entries due by Friday\, April 8\, 2022\n\n\nSeeking artistic and creative high school students grades 9-12 with roots in the Crenshaw District\, Inglewood\, Westchester\, the LAX Community and vicinity in South LA.  Create an artwork that celebrates your community along the route of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project—and have the opportunity to receive $500 if your artwork is selected!  \nArtworks by students in grades 9-12 will be selected as inspiration for eight commemorative pins that Metro will distribute in celebration of the opening of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project—one pin for each of the eight new station. Eight student artists who submit artwork to the contest will be selected by a committee of local community leaders and cultural figures.  \n\n\nThe pins will be distributed free of charge to the public during the opening of the new rail stations: Expo/Crenshaw\, Martin Luther King Jr.\, Leimert Park\, Hyde Park\, Fairview Heights\, Downtown Inglewood\, Westchester/Veterans and Aviation/Century. \nThis contest is open to high school students only\, grades 9-12. One entry per student will be reviewed. \n\n\nAll entries must be received by the deadline of Friday\, April 8\, 2022.  Online entries must be submitted by 5pm (PDT). DESCRIPTION:Nos Vemos / We See Us\nApplication Workshop: Call to Artists / Taller de Solicitud: Convocatoria para Artistas\n\n\nCall to Artists – Nos Vemos/We See Us \nMetro Art invites artists to submit qualifications for consideration to engage Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) communities in cultural asset mapping and artwork creation.  \nJoin staff in a Virtual Application Workshop that will provide: \n1) An overview of the project and application process \n2) Tips on preparing application materials and submission \n3) Question and Answer discussion \n4) An opportunity to connect with fellow artists and Metro Arts & Design staff! \nThe contact information above will be used to send you a confirmation email with the meeting Zoom link and any additional information for the Application Workshop.
