Self Portrait with Ancient Ones muses on how history and context make meaning across time with a portrait of the artist honoring her Mesopotamian roots.

About the Artist

SUSU ATTAR is a polymath artist, world builder and art director. Born in Baghdad and raised in Los Angeles where she is also based, Susu’s work documents and reimagines struggles for self-determination. Her extensive practice centers communal imagination as a tool for individual expansion and liberation. She earned a BA from San Francisco State University, is a founding fellow of the Annenberg Innovation Lab and a member of SEPIA Collective.
