NEW DATE (8/30/25): Bollywood Express at Union Station

Pause with Purpose  

As a result of evolving conditions in downtown Los Angeles, we’ve made the decision to move the Metro Art Presents: Bollywood Express event at Union Station, originally scheduled for this Saturday, June 14 to the new date of Saturday, August 30.

This event was designed to be a joyful reflection of the beautiful diversity that makes Los Angeles. We remain committed to sharing that joy at the right time.  When we gather again, it will be with an even deeper appreciation for what it means to come together in LA.

All aboard the Bollywood Express!
Union Station will come alive with Indian music, dance, and community spirit. The iconic Ticket Concourse will transform into a dazzling, interactive celebration featuring high-energy performances from Blue13 Dance Company, DJ sets from DJ Sandeep Kumar, dhol drumming by Dholnation, henna artistry, and flavorful Indian bites for Metro Art Presents: Bollywood Express at Union Station!

Don’t miss this chance to dance at historic Union Station! RSVP to learn more. Tickets are not required and limited seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 40 visitors to present their TAP cards to the Metro Art info table will receive a free Metro Art publication and a Union Station swag bag!

About the Performers

Blue13 Dance Company 

Blue13 Dance Company is a Los Angeles-based American dance theatre ensemble known for its powerful, rhythmic, and theatrical style that blends modern dance with classical and cultural traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Led by Founding Artistic Director Achinta S. McDaniel, the company challenges stereotypes of Indian dance and creates emotionally rich performances that celebrate diverse voices. For over 20 years, Blue13 has toured internationally, performed at major venues including The Music Center, UNESCO Paris, and Grand Park LA, and brought vibrant storytelling to the stage and screen. In addition to live performance, Blue13 offers choreography for film, TV, and events, and is deeply committed to community engagement through dance education, workshops, and public programs.

DJ Sandeep Kumar

DJ Sandeep Kumar has been a staple in the LA Bollywood/Bhangra scene for over 25 yrs. Having performed at the biggest South Asian events locally and abroad, Sandeep has performed in cities such as Vancouver, San Fransisco, New York, Cancun, Seattle, even as far as Sri Lanka. Sandeep stays true to his desi roots but loves to share the culture with all who love to enjoy. Look forward to seeing him on a dance floor near you!
