Jose Carrillo, El Taquero portrays the artist’s father, a taco vendor, in the uniform he wears during his daily Metro commute. Emphasizing the subject’s weary face and soiled apron, the admiring portrait gives a voice to the hardworking immigrant community, where the artist was raised and thrived.
