About the Artist

Mexican artist JAVIER CARRILLO’s portraits are inspired by the working-class Los Angeles neighborhood where he grew up. He was introduced to painting through Art Division, a nonprofit program for underserved youth. Today, his work is exhibited at local galleries that include Craig Krull Gallery in Santa Monica.
