Initiated in 2001, the Metro Art Lightbox Exhibition Program is a temporary series that engages Metro riders on their daily commute. Lightbox displays are comprised of sequentially arranged transparencies on internally illuminated boxes installed at the following Metro stations: 7th St/Metro Center, Hollywood/Highland, Universal/Studio City, Vermont/Beverly, Wilshire/Normandie, Historic Broadway and Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill.
Past artists whose works have been exhibited through the program include Soo Kim, Andrew Z. Glickman, Charles LaBelle, Chris Jordan, Colette Fu, David Maisel, Diane Meyer, Elon Schoenholz, Harry Gamboa Jr., Holly Andres, Matthew Brandt, Michiko Yao, Mitch Dobrowner, Paloma Muñoz, Peter Goin, Rafael Cardenas, Robbert Flick, Sam Erenberg, Star Montana, Stephen Galloway, The Center for Land Use Interpretation (CLUI), Todd Hido, Walter Martin, and Goin.
