A Gift to the World is a self-portrait celebrating the intersection of Inglewood’s Latinx and Black communities. The sunflowers, a gift from Mexico to the world, and dotted outline of a pre-Columbian Colima dogs motif pay tribute to the artist’s mestizo heritage while the colorful, abstracted map acknowledges the area’s history of redlining and gentrification.
